At Donhead Prep-Prep children learn Spanish. There are various studies that show a strong relation between EYFS and KS1 Spanish language acquisition and future academic excellence. Spanish helps the children reinforce their English phonics. The children turn into confident language learners with the ability to use their language-learning skills for future learning.
Children in Pre-Prep receive a weekly lesson of Spanish from Reception up to PP2(Year 2). EYFS and PP1 learn via story-telling where PP2 studies topics like food and the solar system. Once a year we celebrate our annual Spanish Day with an immersive Spanish theatre performance.
