Public benefit

Donhead is a part of the Society of Jesus charitable trust, with a education, formation and social responsibility at its heart.

The School aims to provide public benefit by:

  • Widening pupil access to the school and their facilities of the school so that children who could not otherwise attend nor access resources can benefit from the education and facilities provided;
  • Sharing the School’s human and physical resources with the local community;
  • Providing financial support to chosen organisations through fund raising and income;
  • Complying with the Charity Commission’s public benefit requirements.

Community Links

Donhead understands the importance of established links with the local community and efforts are focused on providing appropriate access to our education and the expertise of our staff. We also support organisations financially through fund raising activities and school income. Fund raising within school is largely driven by the pupils with charities selected by the Student Council and Houses. Substantial funds are also raised through events organised by staff and parents through our Friends of Donhead work. Invitations are sent to members of the local community for other events such as celebrations of the history of the school, local poet and historians and expert training.

The Bursary Fund

The Donhead Bursary Fund provides assisted places for children who would not otherwise have access to independent education. Parents, Alumni and friends of the school can help to by making a one-off donation or pledge a monthly donation.
