CURIOSITY • CREATIVITY • COMPASSION

Donhead Preparatory School is a non-selective school which achieves excellent academic results and an impressive number of senior school scholarships every year. Our sense of purpose and character formation is bespoke and as a Jesuit school we strive for each child to develop “improvement in living and learning for the greater glory of God and the common good.”

School grounds

The grounds are spacious and leafy with a lawn, adventure playground, climbing wall, and 3G artificial sports court. Over the years, the play areas for the children have been transformed, both in terms of quality and safety. It is a joy to watch the children explore and enjoy the school grounds.

Jesuit Education and Our Mission

JPP

A Jesuit Education: The Ethos and Aims

Key to the ethos and aims of Donhead is the Jesuit Pupil Profile (JPP). The JPP proposes eight pairs of virtues that sum up what a pupil in a Jesuit school is growing to be.

Donhead aims

  • To provide character education for, and develop character formation in, each Donhead child.
  • To provide individual pastoral care for each person and emphasise activity on the part of the pupil.
  • To encourage life-long openness to growth and propose Christ as the model of human life.
  • To celebrate faith in personal and community prayer, worship and service.

The spirit which animates us here at Donhead is a spirit of generosity:

  • Generosity in hard work.
  • Generosity towards each other.
  • Generosity in the service of those who need us most

St Ignatius’ Prayer of Generosity

Lord Jesus, teach me to be generous, teach me to serve you as you deserve, to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labour and not to seek reward, except that of knowing that I do your will.

The quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent.
